Why is Sonar S-tier if he's hard to unlock?
Raw power. Sonar has 42 Intellect (highest in game) and his Instincts ability swaps stats after each mission, making him viable for ANY mission type. Yes, he's story-locked (Episodes 4-5 unlock), but once you have him, he's game-breaking. Late unlock is his only weakness.
Is this tier list for story or missions?
Missions. This ranks heroes for mission success rates and gameplay value. For story/narrative value, all heroes have great character arcs. Blonde Blazer and Invisigal especially shine in story (romance paths).
Can D-Tier heroes still be useful?
Yes! Waterboy (D-tier) is a meme hero but has niche uses. Golem's Found Himself ability lets you reset stats mid-shift. Every hero has situations where they shine - tier list just shows overall consistency.
Should I focus on S-tier heroes only?
No! You need variety for different mission types. Sonar is S-tier but unavailable early. Blonde Blazer + Phenomaman (both A-tier) carry you through Episodes 1-4. Build a roster of A/B tier heroes for flexibility.
